Quito, Ecuador

Most of the first two days – unfortunately – went to planning out our upcoming trips to the Jungle and Galapagos. However, we got to see a lot of the city while walking from ATM to ATM, since the trips had to be paid in cash, and back and forth to the Ecuador Green Travel agency that helped us book it.

Quito is a huge city with tons of history. We went sightseeing in the Old Town area where we followed a walking tour that led you to some of the highlights of the city. There was a political campaign going on, so there were lots of people out supporting their parties. It was also pretty neat on the first night we were here when Quito’s soccer team won 5-1. We got to see the whole city out celebrating. There is so much beautiful architecture and some really amazing churches here in Quito. As per usual, we only wish we could have more time here to see everything.
